Welcome to the Southend Seafront Illuminations page.

The Illuminations along Southend Seafront have been an attraction for many years and have helped to bring millions of visitors each year to Southend from all over the United Kingdom and even further afield

The Illuminations have been organised by Southend Seafront Illuminations and Business Association (S.S.I.B.A.), with support from Southend on Sea Borough Council and various sponsors.

2007 has brought some bad news and some good news.

The bad news is that the existing Illuminations which have run on an ageing 240 volt system for many years are being removed.

The good news is that plans are under way to design a completely new low voltage system to replace them. This will be a more modern and environmentally friendly system and bring the Illuminations into the 21st century.

Although there will be a gap between the removal of the existing Illuminations and their replacement the Seafront continues to offer its regular array of attractions with plenty of places to eat and drink and enjoy yourselves so we hope the whole family will have a great night out.

From the beginning of October Free Saturday Night Firework Spectaculars take place at 8.00p.m. from the foreshore just east of the Pier starting on October  6th and continuing through to November 10th. So why not come along and enjoy the Fireworks and the rest of the Seafronts attractions.
